Satpol PP to Intensify Operations Ahead of and During Ramadan

Jakarta Satpol PP is preparing for maintaining security and public order before and during the month of Ramadan.

They (Satpol PP) are involved in how Jakarta welcomes and during Ramadan remains peaceful

According to Arifin, Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, his personnel will carry out its supervisory function well in a bid to create a safe, orderly, and peaceful atmosphere during Ramadan.

"They (Satpol PP) are involved in how Jakarta welcomes and during Ramadan remains peaceful. Thus, residents can carry out fasting in peace," he expressed after attending the commemoration of Satpol PP's 73rd and Satlinmas' 61st anniversary in Monas area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (3/16).

He explained the operation of entertainment venues would certainly experience adjustments or changes after the publication of the circular letter from Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf).

He went on to say that personnel would supervise and enforce the regulations that would later be issued. If violations are detected, there will be sanctions imposed as stipulated in the letter of reprimand/warning, closure, and other sanctions.

"The rules already exist and will be socialized to all entertainment industry entrepreneurs. Afterward, it will be continued with supervision. Hopefully, they understand and obey the rules that we set," he furthered.

His side would then urge residents, especially small micro business enterprises to open stalls in a predetermined place in a bid not to disturb public order.

"We'll warn those who break it. We also strengthen supervision in various places, including blocking the arrival of people with social and community problems (PMKS)," he stated.
